Why AIGator exists
AI writing tools are useful, but the question “Was this written by AI?” is rarely simple. Human writing can look formulaic, AI-generated text can be heavily edited, and short or highly technical passages may not provide enough evidence for a dependable assessment.
AIGator is being built around a more transparent approach: show the signals, counter-signals, confidence limits, and reliability warnings behind a result instead of presenting a black-box percentage as certainty.
How the Free AI Checker works
- Local writing analysis: AIGator measures features such as sentence rhythm, repetition, variation, specificity, and paragraph structure.
- Model-assisted evidence extraction: an AI model reviews the submitted text for writing-pattern evidence and human counter-evidence.
- AIGator calibration: the signals are combined into a cautious AI-likeness estimate with confidence and input-reliability information.
- Evidence trail: where possible, AIGator highlights the passages that influenced the result.
What a result means
An AIGator result is a probabilistic review signal. It is not proof of authorship, should not be treated as an accusation, and should never be the sole basis for an educational, employment, disciplinary, legal, or similarly important decision.
The most useful workflow is to combine the result with context, source history, document revisions, direct discussion with the author, and human judgment.
